Rustaveli Street

Monument Cheese «Druzhba»

The most famous processed cheese in the CIS

During the cheese festival in Moscow a monument to “Druzhba” chees was installed on the square where Rustavely street crosses Ogorodny passage.

Cheese fell out…

No, it did not — the crow and the fox are still sitting on a stub gently hugging each other and hold famous processed cheese “Druzhba” (which means “Friendship”).

This is not an ordinary postmodernism opus, but true description of this monument standing in Moscow.

It was installed in spring of 2005 at the corner of Rustaveli street and Ogorodny passage. This place lies right opposite “Karat” factory which is had being producing this legendary cheese for some decades.

Sculptures are father and son Shcherbakov whi made the monument in accordance with “public” project of professor Aleksei Semyonov and painter Marina Leskovaya.
