One of the leading collections of contemporary art in the world
Home to one of the world’s finest collections of modern and contemporary art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is itself a masterpiece. Designed by visionary American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and completed in 1959, this New York City landmark celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2009.
Thanks to the completion of a three year restoration, the building is more breathtaking than ever. As you ascend the grand spiral that rises toward the dome above, you’ll experience the Guggenheim’s special exhibitions—featuring celebrated artists from the 19th century through the present—in an “uninterrupted, beautiful symphony,” just as Wright intended over 50 years ago.
