Immersion in the city history begins with the little public garden, located in front of the museum — boyar chambers of the XVII century. Here one can see old oil, kerosene, electric lights. Lined in a row, they are the first to welcome guests of the museum.
The museum funds store archival and printed materials on light engineering, history of of lighting and time distribution, photos and drawings of different kinds of lighting fixtures, visual materials on the history of Moscow as well.
The visitors can see how the lights lit in Moscow and even try themselves in the role of lamplighter or exterior lighting control console manager.
