A municipal house of the “Pervoe Zamskvoretskoe Obyedinenie” Partnership was built in 1926-1927 according to the project of architect Georgy Volfenzon and Samuil Aizikovich. In a central part of the D-shaped building an experiment on rooting of new communal lifestyle took place: there were 230 separate cells for living connected with corridors, dining hall, nursery, kindergarten and club with reading room.
The last floor was occupied by sport hall which room that served simultaneously as a solarium and a summer cinema. Stepped wings of the building housed 40 traditional three-room apartments with individual kitchens for technical intellectuals and management of the factories.
